Trick or Treat!

What a gorgeous Halloween - you don't get to say that too often in Indiana. the kids had a whole day of fun with parties at daycare and exchanging treats with friends so they were pretty wired by the time they got home. We trick or treated to the neighbors we know right in our area and the kids had a great time. Macy was hesitant to push the doorbell, but loved yelling, "trick or treat!" They were just as excited to help me hand out candy the rest of the night. We ended up sitting on the front porch to greet our treaters. Evidently the sweet tooth is an inherited gene since Macy and Ben couldn't get enough candy. By the end of the night I caught Ben grabbing handfuls of Tootsie Rolls and shoving them in his mouth - wrapper and all! Believe it or not, they did go to sleep that night!

Happy Birthday to Ben!

Last Saturday, the 26th, Ben turned two years old! It is hard to believe that two years ago we brought this sweet, quiet, easygoing guy home. He's still just as sweet, but not so quiet and a lot more energy. He woke up on Sat to a little party with Mom, Dad and Macy. We celebrated with balloons and cinammon rolls. Then he got to play with his new Big Wheel. He'd spent the last few weeks trying to grab the neighbor's so we figured he might as well have his own. It makes motorcycle sounds and there are even turn signals. Big Wheels have come a long way since I was a kid!
We spent the rest of the weekend at Meemaw and Papas and Ben got another b-day celebration. He got lots of great, noisy, boy toys, which he loves and his first hot wheels race track. His cousins helped him put it together and they all seemed to have a great time playing with it. We also got really lucky and got all of the grandkids to sit down together at one time for a picture!

Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere!

We had a great trip to the local pumpkin patch back in the early part of October. It was a beautiful fall day and everything looked great. Macy and Ben made their own fun, by picking up the little pumpkins, or "baby" pumpkins as they called them and throwing them at each other! The pumpkin patch, actually Fall Fantasy Land had tons of stuff for the kids - a straw fort, "scary" decorations and even a big teepee made of straw (that's what the kids are sitting in in the bottom picture).

They each picked out a pumpkin they liked which took a bit of time - 2 year olds can be quite specific about the perfect Halloween pumpkin! Wetook a stroll through the country store and got some sugar cookies iced to look like apples with worms coming out of them - too cute! A day like this makes you want it to be fall all year long. :) However, it was a Sunday and the Colts were on so we couldn't stay all day! We all enjoyed the day and hope you like the pics of the pumpkins -our's and their's!
