Christmas

It was a year for firsts. I got to be a helper with Macy's class for the Christmas party which was a ton of fun. Macy also had a big Christmas party for  her Daisy troop that was a whole afternoon of fun!
The kids were a little more in to decorating this year, however they  have not developed the "delicate" touch I would like yet. We did a Christmas cook-off with the  Blume girls which is always a hoot and took a car trip through the Franke Park Christmas lights which was amazing.
The Blumes hosted the entire Lawson family for a Christmas Eve party after we attended the Christmas Eve service at their church. We also learned some great news - Amanda and Jeff are engaged!! Every addition to a family is such a blessing. We are thrilled for them and us!
The firsts continue and I hosted the family for Christmas day. Cyndi and I did the main meal and I'm tooting  my own horn a bit but we hit it out of the park! We didn't do a traditional gift exchange this year we did a funny white elephant exchange and it was hilarious. I got the KFC gift certificate which is for "People who appreciate great taste and intestinal woes!" At least that's what the certificate says!!! The best gift of the day was The Jerk gift collection which included a lamp, chair, paddle ball game, ash try and remote! Of course, the kids were spoiled rotten. Santa did well. :)
We followed up with a trip to the Whites for a Mexican fiesta!! Teresa always does it up right and we ate until we literally could have puked! It was a first for the Whites because as far as I know no one got sick! We tend to do a good job of passing around the germs.  Chad's favorite part of the White Christmas is the gag gifts. He spends a lot of time on trying to get something good for everyone. This year Grandma Scott was the biggest target. She had a good sense of humor about it and we all had a good laugh. :)
As always, I am reminded of how truly blessed we are. I am grateful for another year, and looking forward to all the adventures awaiting us in 2011!! Happy New Year!

This is the little Santa house they set up on the courthouse square in Columbia City. The pics of the kids and Santa were taken inside.

This was a puppet show we went to at the Blumes' church. It was about Christmas. So cute and the kids loved it.

After the puppet show we went to see the lights at Franke Park in FW. This is the shot of the back of the van.

Thanksgiving

Fun times with all the cousins at The White Thanksgiving. I loved the cute shot of Jennaboo reading to Macy. We got the extended Lawson family together to celebrate Grandpa's 90th birthday. What a great day. I hope God blesses all of us with the life and longevity that Grandpa has!
