Puerto Rico

This was our 4th annual Lawson family vacation and our most exotic to date. It was also the first time our kids had flown. Bless their hearts they did great. It was a fun week and went way too fast!
Here they are at the Fort Wayne airport getting a look at their first plane.
Killing time in O'Hare during one of our many layovers.
Welcome to San Juan! Our first day at the hotel pool.
Our home away from home for the week, Humacao. This fountain was at the entrance to the city.
Ben's sandcastle. It lasted long enough to take this picture and then he trashed it.
Macy was an absolute fish the whole week. She ran right into the waves with no fear.
 The pool at our house.
Our trip into the rain forest. We look like a band of lost jungle people.

These orchids were growing out of the side of the building at the El Yunque rainforest ranger center. There was no pot or dirt and the stem was sticking straight out - one of the craziest things I've ever seen.
We hiked for like an hour it seemed to reach this waterfall, Diego's Falls. All the kids were disappointed that we didn't see Diego himself. :)
This shot is for all my fellow Lost fans. D.oesn't it totally remind you of the island
This was taken from the top of a tower (can't remember the name) at the El Yunque park - very cool views.
Macy carried Jesse up with her and insisted on a picture. Thought it was adorable!
Blumes on the beach, from a distance, in the morning the sun really shined off the water.
Macy in my hat headed to the beach.
Dad doing the Heisman pose with a coconut.
 Adults night out!!!!
Our day in Old San Juan. Jeff and Amanda pose with the paella.
 Mom and Dad.
Hide and seek at the fort.
Lookout tower - what a lonely job, but a great view.
A little morbit since this is a cemetary, but the white against the blue ocean was gorgeous.
Statue across the street from the fort, it was so intriquing, but all the info was in Spanish so I have no idea what it is.  ;)
Hard to grasp the size of this place - it was massive. Total building time from start to finish was 250 years!

 Such a view!!
This was the end of a long travel day. We left the house at 6am and landed in Fort Wayne about 10:30pm. The kids were waiting for us to gather luggage and head home. Ben fell asleep before he could eat his popcorn. So cute!

Lawson Girls Weekend

The five of us took a quick weekend for just girls down in Indy. We did a little shopping and a lot of eating and laughing...note all 5 of us tucked into one room!!
